The Count Down

So Anders will be home in 2 weeks give or take 4 or 5 days before or after. Well more likely after.  One thing I've learned in the 11 years we've been together when he says he'll be home on the 20th I usually add at least 5 days , he is NEVER early. Well unless when its time to go back to work then for some reason the ship gets somewhere early or on time. I don't know why but it always works that way.  I say I'm starting my count down but honestly the count down starts the minute I say goodbye to him at the airport or when the limo driver comes to get him. Either way the calendar is always a mess since I cross the days off with big black marker, like I'm wishing them gone.  Sad thing is I am,  I know I am one of the few who look forward to winter since Anders is always home all winter.  I know its not good to wish your life away so fast but shouldn't it slow down when he is home? You'd think it would but for some reason it seems to go faster! Why is that?

Right now His ship is in Thunder Bay Ontario, I haven't asked for an ETH ( Estimated Time for Home) yet but next week I will.  Then of course I'll write it on the calendar and I expect that day will change a few times before I actually go pick him up!  I better start getting my "honey do List" ready it could take a few days just for that!

Of course I have to clarify when I say he is always late, its not his fault, this time of year the weather plays a big part in when the ship will get to where its going.  Anders writes his trips out when he gets them and writes the time he will be at each section like when he leaves thunderbay there will be a time for when he departs, when he arrives at the St. Mary's River, another one for the Soo Locks, another one for getting out of the river and onto Lake Huron, and so on and so on until it has a time for when he will get to that port he is going to on the St. Lawerence River.  After that he checks the weather forecast and looks to see what the weather will be like at each of those points and makes decisions on his route.  So this time of year with the bad storms he has to do a lot of weather routing and anchoring.  So yes delays.

Regardless right now I have a date in mind but I'm not writing it down YET, but I am counting...16 days to go.
