Here and Gone!

Yep, Anders came home for the winter a couple weeks ago, just in time for him to put the Christmas lights outside for us and help decorate around the house.  But the life of a sailor at home is never guaranteed and yep one afternoon we got a phone call "could you come help us out?"  Anders asked me what I thought and promised me that they promised he would get home for Christmas.  So off he went to Thunder Bay, Ontario to join up with the ship for a couple weeks.   If he isn't home for Christmas you will for sure see another post here....#W%Q$

So here I am back to manning the fort at home. First thing was to get the tractor moved that stalled out a the bottom of our 350 foot driveway that has a VERY steep grade to it. I guess it didn't like the really cold weather we had. Anders put some 911 in it before he left for work but it hadn't started so after a couple days when the weather warmed up I was finally able to get it started.  I'm just glad it was pointed almost uphill since I really don't like it when it "lists" ...LOL  Happy its running since it comes in handy moving wood from the woodpile to the house which I'll be needing to do really soon now that the cold weather is coming back.

Its funny how my life has changed since I met Anders, I've always been obsessed with the weather I'm apt to leave the weather channel on our TV 24/7 I just find it so interesting. But now of course I have to read the Great Lakes Weather too and see what he is up against. Those storms getting pretty nasty out there, worse than most people here in the East would ever know about.  Glad he is a weather router though and doesn't do stupid things and put the ship and the crew out in nasty weather. Makes it easier to not worry about him thats for sure.  Another  thing that I do since meeting him is I NEVER put cans or boxes etc upside down in the cupboards. Now before I couldn't of cared less but he told me that thats one thing you never do. Something about not wanting his ship upside down. Sailors are pretty superstitions or at least this one is. So yep, right side up cans in the cupboards.
