I have been pretty quiet online lately since Anders has been home. We've been enjoying our time together. Playing with our granddaughter Isabel, working on last minute projects before the snow falls, playing backgammon and carcason our favorite past times then of course there is the sports on TV that He loves and I happily have lots of handwork to do while he watches it! For the last week though things have been a bit hurried since he knew it was getting close to when he would "get the call". I avoid answering the phone myself when I see its from a Canadian number since I know what they want. With his job you never really know when they are going to call though, to me its like waiting to go to the dentist, you know its not going to feel good and you just dread it....
So a couple days ago he got the call, so yesterday we spent the day away from the house since if we stayed home it would just be me thinking "oh this is the last time we will be doing....." and the list would go on.Being away from the house was a good distraction for both of us. We had a great day shopping and eating out spoiling ourselves.
Today we drove down and picked up our Granddaughter and then headed off to have breakfast out with her and I dropped him off in front of the airport. People ask me why I don't go IN the airport and then again its just that same thing, why sit there and draw out that goodbye any longer than you need to? Its easier for us to "rip it off like a bandaid" I kiss him goodbye and tell him to stay safe and I usually go shopping! Today though Isabel was really tired so we decided to go home. Luckily thanks to Amazon.Com I can make that retail therapy work even from home! UPS just loves coming up here...ha ha
Many ask, so when will he come home? You know, we don't know, could be a couple weeks, could be a month, heck it could be ...no I hope not longer than that. I have already resigned myself into thinking he won't be home for Christmas, heck I think he has only been home for two since I've known him , so one more won't kill me. If not Christmas we've told ourselves we'd celebrate Christmas on New Years Eve. Last year we were in the car on the way home from the airport on New Years Eve, could happen again, who knows. Meanwhile , it will be quiet here but I'm thankful that I have a lot of projects to keep me busy and four amazing kids and two beautiful Grandchildren close by to keep me from going bonkers.
